SEEKING ANSWERS: Most Desirable Object Survey

been in the studio, testing out ideas through images, boxes and diagrams. I have billions of notes, scribbles and images but it would be really interesting if we could get some more feedback from the MDO Survey to use directly as texts ... or as additional [and specific] thoughts or observations.

Answers as comments on the blog would be fabulous! But, although Joe [thanks!] has been brave and left the first comment, I appreciate that not everyone will feel comfortable 'blogging' or want to go this public with their thoughts and ideas. Therefore, [in moving into mail-art] has also been considering sending a set of post card templates, fully furnished with return stamps, to give as many -- or just another -- options for reply as possible.

Either|or, feedback to the survey -- and ideas for how you want to give feedback -- most appreciated. "doncaster: what say you?"

I like the idea of the most desirable object...does it have to be in the Doncaster Musuem?
Do we get a prize if we give you our answer?
When is the closing date?
Can I be in the competition?
So many questions.

no it doesn't have to be in the museum already -- but, you have to come up with the argument [absolutely any argument!] for why it should, could or absolutely must be include into [the already bursting] doncaster collection or display!
prize - ooh!
the competiton is closing 21st, 22nd march and then again later on in april!
please be in the competition!
so little time!

Fabulous! and thank you both!

Interestingly, Colin also wanted a bog body and we spoke about how such a find would afford prestige to the museum, the work you do and help save the find location from destruction or construction -- and bring the past to life.

I love the idea of bringing the old museum into the new (are you a link yourself Joe? working both sites)

BUT, while you may get what you wish for (and I hope so!) this is no experts, collectors or curators dream: second part of survey and the POSSIBLE catch: The collection is full -- the display is bursting ! How are you going to argue for your object to be included when there may be more local or relevant links than the armour between the sites -- and when someone says 'not another pot! they got one in Yorkshire already!
What say you then?

Is there a argument that makes all other arguments redundant and makes the case against inclusion impossible?

if .. then - to the blog ... + get those other folks to commit their wishes to the cyber survey!
